On the last weekend of October TMG held it’s first meeting exclusively for our TMG site study coordinators in a cool and rainy Grand Bend, Ontario.  The meeting was co-sponsored by TMG and the top-performing TMG investigators from 2017, as a way of recognizing the contribution our study coordinators made to the success of our top sites. Eleven coordinators were in attendance representing 7 Ontario TMG sites.

As we prepared for the meeting it became evident that this was going to be a special opportunity for TMG to directly and personally thank those in attendance for the important contribution they make to TMG’s success.  This became our primary theme. We also took it as an opportunity to find out what TMG can do to best support, educate, inform, and serve the coordinators at TMG sites. The feedback we received was very instructive, particularly when related to how prospective subjects from advertising can best be managed to reduce coordinator downtime.

The agenda covered the following topics:

1. Benefits for coordinators of TMG network membership in Society of Clinical Research Sites (SCRS)

2. The TransCelerate Shared Investigator Platform (SIP)

3. Results from our study coordinator pre-meeting survey

4. TMG patient recruitment initiatives – JoinAStudy.ca, PRPL volunteer database

5. Latest quality & training topics of interest

6. TMG website – investigator portal: one access point for all TMG services

7. Current trial landscape – a brief look around the industry

TMG is grateful for the contribution all our study coordinators make towards the success of our business by connecting with and guiding study volunteers through the clinical trials being carried out at their sites.  They are such a big (and sometimes overlooked) part of how new medicines make their way through the development stages to become available for all Canadians.
